{"id":149,"date":"2016-10-16T22:22:17","date_gmt":"2016-10-16T22:22:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hydroland.co.uk\/uk\/?p=149"},"modified":"2016-10-16T22:22:17","modified_gmt":"2016-10-16T22:22:17","slug":"wardell-armstrong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hydroland.co.uk\/uk\/wardell-armstrong\/","title":{"rendered":"Wardell Armstrong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hydroland supported Wardell\u00a0Armstrong LLP\u00a0for all their fluvial modelling\u00a0services for wide range of projects and tom mention few:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Avocet in Stroud (2016 &#8211; current)\u00a0<\/strong>Hydroland has been commissioned by Wardell Armstrong LLP to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review and improve the existing scenario model to create a refined baseline model.<\/li>\n<li>Develop design model to assess impact of the proposed development<\/li>\n<li>Run a number of mitigation options to make sure development comply with NPPF criteria.<\/li>\n<li>Present development proposal and associated results to EA and Local authority planning team to get their comment, gain their support and approval.<\/li>\n<li>Production of NPPF complaint Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) to accompany a planning application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Emmerson Green (2015 -2016): <\/strong>Hydroland has been commissioned by Wardell Armstrong LLP to convert the JBA 1D model for the Emerson Green East Development (EGE) to a linked 1D-2D fully hydrodynamic model in ISIS-TUFLOW. This modelling work will develop a reliable numerical hybrid (1D linked 2D) model without the limitation of 1D modelling techniques and be robust enough to estimate the current flood risk of the area to form a baseline scenario. The model is used as a tool to fully assess the existing fluvial flood risk posed by the watercourses in the area of interest and surrounding area. Consequently, the current best estimate of the flood risk for the area was\u00a0used as benchmark to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Determine the suitability of the location for the proposed development<\/li>\n<li>Assess the impact of the development on the surrounding area<\/li>\n<li>If the above two tests are positive, use to determine design parameters such as new channel geometry and levels, finished floor level of properties, design soffit level of online structures or road crossing levels as part of the production of Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) to accompany a planning application for submission to the local planning authority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ruddington (2015-2016) <\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hydroland has been commissioned by St Wardell Armstrong LLP to update the Halcrow ISIS1D-2D 2012 hybrid model for Packman Dyke (a tributary of the Fairham Brook) at the site of interest located to the north of Ruddington town, Nottinghamshire. The update work was\u00a0to improve the numerical instability prior to the model being used as a tool to fully assess the existing fluvial flood risk posed by the watercourses on the area of interest and surrounding area then design\u00a0diversion channel\u00a0as part of the development proposal prior to producing an FRA to support the planning application for residential development. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Swan Brook (2015 &#8211; 2016)<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hydroland CE Ltd has been commissioned by Wardell Armstrong LLP to carry out a culvert blockage, roughness sensitivity and climate change runs using the existing WSP 1D model north west of Redditch and carry out a 1D mapping for EA review.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Low Brook Model review (2015):<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hydroland CE Ltd has been commissioned by Wardell Armstrong LLP to review hydraulic model which was submitted by Halcrow in 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Llanwern (2015)\u00a0<\/strong> Hydroland were commissioned by wardell-Armstrong to undertake reservoir routing exercise where Hydroland produced small model and run a number of iteration to advise the designers. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Llanwern (2015)\u00a0<\/strong> Hydroland were commissioned by wardell-armstrong to undertake an analysis of the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF) for a SuDS (Sustainable Drainage System) storage pond for proposed<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> development in Llanwern, Newport.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This part of the report gives an overview of how the PMF has been derived.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hydroland supported Wardell\u00a0Armstrong LLP\u00a0for all their fluvial modelling\u00a0services for wide range of projects and tom mention few: Avocet in Stroud (2016 &#8211; current)\u00a0Hydroland has been commissioned by Wardell Armstrong LLP to: Review and improve the existing scenario model to create a refined baseline model.
